Myke Charles Video Shoot

Spent a great Saturday night at the studio with producer Nick Torres and the crew from Emergency Room shooting the video for Myke Charles‘ new single C.L.A.P. at Transmission Studio. Myke and his acapella group Urban Method made it into the top three finalists on NBC’s The Sing-Off due in part to Myke’s outstanding performance on the show! The sweet rebuilt ’64 Chevelle on stage is owned by Rick Sauser who generously brought the car down to be in the video. Props to director Natche Greene and DP Vince Lance for putting together a fantastic production and to Nisha Martin for looking fabulous. Please check Myke out on Twitter and Facebook.

Federico and Cindy Pena stopped by Transmission Studio to record segments for the CLLARO / Bernie Valdez Awards Reception. We were honored to host the former Denver mayor and Secretary of Transportation/Energy in our studio and found Mr. and Mrs. Pena to be super nice people. No wonder he made such a great mayor! Leereedy Xylem @ Transmission Studio

Last week Leereedy Xylem shot some timelapse composites at Transmission Studio for Similasan, a Swiss company that provides homeopathic products for eye strain. Creative director Ryan Lee and photographer Ryan Policky along with Tom Hoch and Heather Wallace spent the day recording actors who will be composited into the scenes and turned into banner ads for Similasan.

Corey Lucero in “TreeOhTree”

What do you get when you combine a skateboard with a snowboard? A Freebord! Check out professional Freeborder and editor Corey Lucero ripping it up in this brand new video from Transmission Studio. Shot over the summer in Colorado, the footage was captured on a variety of formats including DVCProHD, HDV and GoPro MP4 making post a challenge, but you can see in the final edit, Corey cut together a top prize contender! Corey has also come a long way since winning Standout Rider of the Year in 2009 and continues to challenge himself on the downhill and as an innovative freestyler.

SWaT Production & TM Anderson Publishing

SWaT Production and TM Anderson chose Transmission Studio to record book trailers for an upcoming release of two new publications “Surrept” and “Ladies First”. The production features live action segments from the two stories and was shot over two of the hottest days in Denver history making the set more like the Mojave Desert than the locations in the book. Nevertheless, we all made it through with a combination of box fans and ice pads. Note to self: add silent AC in the studio!

Missing Pieces Movie

This is the trailer for Missing Pieces by Kenton Bartlett. It’s a feature film we worked on last year in Leadville, Colorado when he hired Phil with the camera crane to get some of the spectacular mountain scenes he had written into the script. It’s Kenton’s first movie and we encourage everyone to give him support so that he can get it into theaters around the country. TLC Surprise Homecoming

These photos are from a recent production with Authentic Entertainment at Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs. It was a fun shoot for a show called Surprise Homecoming on TLC and I had the 24 foot camera crane out working around the M1A1 Abrams battle tank and AH-64A Apache attack helicopter. We had a few strong gusts of wind and it was all I could do not to lose control of the arm and crash into our host Billy Ray Cyrus! It’s a great show about soldiers returning from overseas to surprise their families. Be sure to look for it on TLC in the coming weeks!

Condorcam @ Wilson Woods

Last week I showed up at Wilson Woods in Evergreen, CO to find Jesse Placky installing his cable camera setup The Condorcam in the trees above the course. This is Jesse’s second cable camera design and is a much improved version of its predecessor. While this course ran about 300 feet, the Condorcam is built to travel A to B spans as distant as 1000 feet and its wireless, robotic, triple axis head provides a 360˚ birds-eye view of the action. Jesse needed a second pair of hands, so I volunteered to be his driver and found the controls to be intuitive, simple and smooth. Scott’s BMX course provided a great location for some spectacular shots and it wasn’t long before we found a rhythm nailing shot after shot. The Condorcam is a phenomenal camera support system that creates a fascinating viewpoint for many different applications and I would recommend it to anyone hoping to raise their production to the next level.
